4 Examples of Interactive Ads

Advertising has changed rapidly thanks to the onslaught of the digital age. So, companies that do invest in traditional advertising methods such as print and billboards are pushed to think of a way to create interactive ads, getting more bang for their buck by bringing their offline advertising efforts online, too.

How? By getting viewers to engage with interactive ads. Here are five examples of interactive ads that grab users offline and encourage online interaction and share-worthy content, too.

1. JetBlue Free Flights

Nextshark gives us the lowdown: "New Yorkers were tested to see how carefully they actually paid attention to the fine print of an ad poster. Over 180 giveaway posters were posted at bus stops around the city of New York. People were encouraged to steal the ad in exchange for prizes. Over 100 lucky individuals were rewarded round-trip flights, baseball tickets, and even free ice cream."

2. Peru's Drinking Water Billboards

Popular Mechanics reports, "Engineers from Peru's University of Engineering and Technology (UTEC) have devised a way to turn that humid air into usable water. Last December, they erected a billboard in the Bujama District of Lima that by early March had produced 9450 liters (about 2500 gallons) of water."

3. SNCF 3D Video Doors

DigitalBuzz blogged about the "Europe. It's Just Next Door" campaign, sharing that SNCF Railways "placed interactive doors across prominent tourist locations in Europe, showcasing specific cultural attractions."

4. Glacial Beer-Cooling Ads

Lastly, Hubspot breaks down these Glacial print ads: "If you've ever wanted to speed up the beer-cooling process, you'll understand the allure of this print ad from Glacial. You soak the ad in water, wrap it around the bottle, and put it in the freezer. The print ad was made with salt particles, which reduce the freezing point of water."
